Montclair Stables is owned and operated by Joe Conoscienti and Nicky Buckingham. Nicky oversees the day to day running of the barn and is available on a daily basis to answer questions and ensure that all the horses are given the highest quality of care.

Nicky has been involved with horses all her life and has a wealth of experience both competing and in stable management. She also enjoys teaching both adults and children, in dressage and jumping. Nicky has trained with Nick Larkin for the last 3 years. She also clinics on a regular basis with Ralph Hill and Ian Stark (five time Olympian from Great Britain).

Nicky competes her two horses Cool Fusion and One For Harry at USEA recognized Horse Trials. Cool Fusion (Fuse) is currently competing at Prelim while One For Harry (Harry) is about to do his first Training level event. The highlight for Nicky in 2004 was qualifying Fuse for the American Eventing Championships at Preliminary level. Not too bad for a horse that was still earning his keep at the track less than 3 years before! Both horses were purchased from race tracks and retrained by Nicky for their current careers as event horses. Nicky enjoys taking horses with racing backgrounds and giving them new starts in life as event horses.

Montclair Stables is very much a work in progress, as we are continually making improvements to the facility. We like to think of our boarders and students as friends instead of clients and we strive to provide a safe and friendly atmosphere in which people can learn and enjoy their horses.
